Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, generating powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Locals witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that various areas across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced power outages after Melbourne recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams responded to over five hundred calls for help across the area, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

At one point on yesterday, in excess of 28k power users in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the area.
